So I've been playing this DS game, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors for DS, have any of you heard of it?
I admit I was really skeptical about it.. I didn't think I would like it as I did with other series like Ace Attorney or Professor Layton or Ghost Trick. But. OH MY GOD. It's so ADDICTIVE, I can't stop playing! skfjndsjfnkd ♥
So, what is it about? There are these 9 characters that were kidnapped and put into an enormous ship and they only have 9 hours to escape.
Each of them has a bracelet with a number from 1 to 9 and, in order to pass through a numbered door, the digital root of the sum of their bracelet numbers must be equal to the number written on the door. Only 3-5 people can pass, though. In order to escape, they need to find the 9th door.
When you enter a room, you have to solve puzzles before being allowed to go to the next room. One thing I loved/hated about this game is that there' s too much math in it!
I loved the puzzles about hexadecimals, though. They made me feel clever.
-me: <<AN "F"? OMG THAT MUST MEAN 15! SDGSGGHJSDHKJD >>
The plot is really good and fits very well together, there are A LOT of plot twists and... 6 endings.
About the endings...
The first ending I got was [Axe], then i got [Sub] and then [Safe]. Haven't seen the [True] Ending yet.. I hope not to get it too soon, I feel like there's still a lot I don't know about the characters.
Ah, I think I got the worst endings first :[. -I CAN'T SEE HOW MUCH WORSE IT COULD HAVE ENDED.
The game itself is not scary, but some scenes are a bit gory. When someone dies, you don't get to see the actual corpse.. Just the blood splattered on the walls.. But the description of the scene and the characters' reactions are so detailed... I MEAN. I DON'T REALLY WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE.. <<Small chunks of meat that had splattered against the wall, and become stuck there as they dried>> AND ABOUT THE <<Globules of yellowish fat that had left trails like tiny slugs as gravity pulled them down to the wall, even as they dried to it>>.
EWWWW.
No, seriously. This game is amazing, you really should try it if you are into visual novels/puzzle games.
